Children can go home for lunch, have a school dinner or bring a packed lunch in from home. We also provide packed lunches to order made in school. Please do not bring in hot meals for your children.
The afternoon session begins after lunch and runs through until 3.30pm, it often includes an assembly and a break for KS1 children.
The school day ends at 3.30pm and all children can be collected from their classroom door. However, Reception parents can arrive from 3.20 right through until 3.30pm to enable time to pick up other children from other years.
Lunchtime are special at BPA. We have a wonderful outside space stretching from our westerly MUGA right around the school to the large playing field at the east. Every lunchtime we have organised sports coaching on the MUGA and Y2 playground. Y3 playground is used for one of our two Crazes of the Week. This may be plate spinning, juggling, bubbles, water painting, chalks, acting on our stage, a disco, bottle flipping or giant games. Y1 have an activity every week, such as bug hunting, hula hoops, parachute games or catch. On the main playground we have a Craze of the Week and a huge playpod where scrap items are used for making dens, pulling crates, playing on keyboards or cable reels, enacting battles with foam, pushing trunkies or rolling tyres. The main field is used for handstands, running, picnics, playground games, rolling down the hills, balancing on the balance beam or hunting in the shrubs. We have a playhouse for those who would prefer to be inside, with loom bands, board games, dressing up, making hats, crafts, playing with donated toys or card games. This is not a complete list, but the children are engaged and lunchtimes are fun.
